Elizabeth knows the power of grassroots political activism, having watched the new re-energized CCDP take shape in her living room during the 2004 election. Since that time, she has served on the CCDP Steering Committee, chair for Precinct #40 West Newton; and a co-organizer for the first Century Club dinner. A NC native, Eli graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine with a degree in government and a concentration in international affairs. Professionally, she has been a writer, a teacher, a weight trainer, and an arts administrator.
In 2005, she helped to found and served as the first director of the NewArt School, the educational programming arm of the Newton-Conover Auditorium. She now holds a position on the Auditorium’s Board of Directors. She is active in her children’s schools and in causes related to international adoption and Ethiopia. Currently a stay-at-home mom with the occasional singing job, Eli lives in Newton with her husband, Rob, and their three children.
First Vice Chair: William Payne

The son of a chemical engineer for the US Air Force, William moved back home to Catawba County with his family when his father took early retirement. After attending Appalachian State University, he returned to Hickory, where he met his husband in 2002 and finally got married in Boston, MA in July of 2009.
William became active in the party at the start of 2009 when he lost his job. He is thankful for the chance to meet many wonderful people, glad to be involved, and hopes that he can help make a difference in our community. He believes in the value of all families, and is an outspoken supporter for equality. William looks at every day as an opportunity to learn something new and brings a touch of passion to everything he does.
William and his husband currently reside in Conover, NC.
Second Vice Chair: Kisha Clemons

Kisha Clemons is a native of Catawba County and currently resides in Maiden Precinct #20. She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Music Education. She is the former band director at Maiden Middle School, and is completing the Masters of School Administration program at ASU in May. Kisha is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow alumnus and currently a North Carolina Principal Fellow. Kisha is passionate about serving this community and committed to promoting the ideas, values, and beliefs of the Democratic Party. During the presidential election she worked with Obama’s campaign staff and volunteers. She was selected as an Obama Organizing Fellow and worked in several counties: Catawba, Lincoln, Iredell, and Cleveland. Her experience and responsibilities included: organizing voter registration, canvassing, and phone-banking events, leading and facilitating meetings, and hosting fundraisers. Kisha enjoys teaching flute lessons and spending time with friends and family. She is excited about working within the Democratic Party and looking forward to making a difference in this community.
Third Vice Chair: Jeff Neuville

Jeff Neuville, a local businessman and life-long Democrat, will serve as 3rd Vice Chairman. Jeff is currently partner and co-owner of Business Assist NC, a consulting group that provides management support and business advice to small and medium sized companies, as well as recruiting and outplacement services. Previously Jeff served as President and CEO of Neuville Industries, a family-owned hosiery company in Hildebran that gained national recognition for its family-friendly workplace policies. Jeff also served in several senior management positions at International Legwear Group. Jeff and his wife Michele live in the Catawba Springs neighborhood in Hickory. Their two children attend Arndt Middle School and Clyde Campbell Elementary School. Jeff is currently a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the United Arts Council of Catawba County and a member of the Board of Directors of the Catawba Valley Youth Soccer Association. Jeff graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration and received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Brandon is a native of North Carolina and has spent most of his life in Catawba County. He is active in the community working with a number of non-profit and civic organizations.
In 2006, Brandon co-founded the North Carolina Advocacy Coalition, a statewide political action committee focused on fostering political involvement with LGBT youth.
He has volunteered hundreds of hours with Democratic campaigns. He is a proud Young Democrat and frequently engages the community through thought invoking progressive journalism.
Brandon currently lives in Hickory, NC.
Treasurer: Brenda Craig

A resident of Catawba County for 22 years, Brenda is a graduate of Hickory High School, Auburn University (BS – Biological Sciences), Lenoir-Rhyne University (Accounting Courses) and Pfeiffer University (Masters of Business Administration). For 10 years after graduation, she lived in Durham and worked in Pulmonary Research at Duke University Medical Center. In 1987, she returned to Hickory and has worked since then as Accounting Supervisor/ Accounting Manager for companies in Unifour Area. She’s past treasurer of the NC Chapter Sierra Club, current treasurer for Lakeview Baptist Church, and was just elected chair of Precinct #16 Oakland Heights. |
