Catawba County Democratic Party Mission

Our mission is to:

1. identify, recruit, support and elect qualified candidates in every possible election; and
   
2. to reinvigorate the Democratic Party as a strong political and social organization in our county.
   

Catawba County Democratic Party Vision Statement

The Democratic Party of Catawba County is a grassroots political and social organization whose members are deeply committed to our county, our state, and our country. By raising political awareness, recruiting and supporting candidates, and serving voter needs during and between elections, we will achieve the following goals:

• To develop and strengthen a two-party political system on the local and state level;
  
• To be a responsive advocate for the people of this county who share our ideals;
  
• To educate people on the importance of voting and on issues which affect their health, safety, and well-being on a daily basis;
  
• To build a community which respects diversity, encourages optimism, endorses personal responsibility, and insists upon personal liberties;
  
• To promote a strong local economy by creating jobs with higher wages and good benefits, rewarding responsible economic development, and demanding fiscal discipline from both our government and private industry;
  
• To support schools which prepare our children to think and thrive in a technologically-advanced, multicultural world;
  
• To protect and beauty, history, and natural resources of Catawba County for the benefit of current and future generations;
  
• To hold local, state, and national government leaders accountable for their political actions and policies by insisting upon openness, truth, and a dedication to the ideals of freedom as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States;
  
• To encourage unity over dissension, to promote consensus over divisiveness, and to work in the present, ever mindful of our vision for a peaceful, prosperous future.

We believe that by working tirelessly toward these goals, we will improve the lives of every person in Catawba County.
